About the Role


Viya Marine, a growing name in the UAE's maritime service sector, is currently seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Service Advisor to join our team. As a Service Advisor at Viya Marine, you will act as the primary liaison between our customers and our technical service team. You will be responsible for managing service inquiries, scheduling maintenance and repair work, providing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring that every vessel owner or operator receives a seamless, professional experience.


This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique demands of the marine environment—from pleasure crafts and fishing boats to commercial workboats—and can communicate technical information clearly to both customers and technicians.




Key Responsibilities


Customer Service & Communication:




  • Serve as the first point of contact for all service-related customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits.




  • Listen to customer concerns, diagnose basic service needs, and recommend appropriate repairs or maintenance.




  • Provide clear, professional explanations of required work, estimated costs, and timelines.




Service Coordination & Scheduling:




  • Schedule service appointments for marine engines, electrical systems, hull repairs, and other marine equipment.




  • Coordinate with the technical team to allocate workloads and ensure timely completion of jobs.




  • Monitor job progress and keep customers updated on status changes or unexpected delays.




Estimating & Invoicing:




  • Prepare detailed service estimates, including parts, labor, and any subcontractor costs.




  • Process work orders, invoices, and payment collections.




  • Follow up with customers on completed work and satisfaction levels.




Marine Industry Knowledge Application:




  • Utilize knowledge of marine engines (outboard, inboard, diesel), electronics, hydraulics, and rigging to assist customers effectively.




  • Stay updated on new marine products, service campaigns, and warranty procedures.




  • Order and track parts inventory related to service jobs.




Documentation & Reporting:




  • Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and digital history logs for each vessel.




  • Generate daily/weekly service reports for management.




  • Ensure all completed jobs meet Viya Marine's quality and safety standards.






Required Skills & Experience




 

 







































Category Requirement
Industry Experience Relevant experience in the marine industry (service advising, workshop coordination, marina operations, or boat maintenance)
Customer Service Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a technical or industrial environment
Communication Strong verbal and written English skills; additional Arabic or other languages are a plus
Technical Aptitude Ability to understand basic marine mechanical, electrical, and fiberglass repair terminology
Computer Skills Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with service management software (e.g., Torque, Workshop Software) is an advantage
Organization Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills
Driving License Valid UAE driving license is an advantage (for site visits or customer meetings)




Preferred Qualifications (Bonus)




  • Previous experience as a service advisor, service writer, or workshop coordinator in a marine, automotive, or heavy equipment environment.




  • Knowledge of major marine brands (Yamaha, Mercury, Suzuki, Volvo Penta, Caterpillar, etc.).




  • Diploma or certificate in Marine EngineeringBusiness Administration, or Customer Service Management.




  • Familiarity with UAE maritime regulations and port entry procedures.
